Do like smackdown vs raw 2010 and as soon as you boot the game up it automatically goes into practice mode. I would have no problem explaining football strategy while we practice with the controls.

Preach.

Re: Madden team wants more casual gamers? PUT IN A TUTORIAL!!

Some sort of tutorial would be great. Another thing the old gen Madden's had which for some reason got scrapped. I know 04 had it for the Playmaker control.

I know Nba 2k10 has a practice mode which does a good job of helping you with the moves. Even something as simple as a freestyle mode to work on the jukes and such would be helpful. The practice mode now sucks IMO. Adding something like the tutorials these other games have would be welcome

Imo, EA wants casual gamers from an adoption standpoint. They don't put in enough energy capturing the casual audience with the intention of make them a part of the hardcore audience. They just allow them to maintain...casual. This is where I think they fail, in turn, turning hardcore football fans AND hardcore madden fans into mere casual consumers.

I think a tutorial would help. A demo w/ tutorial would be even better.

Agreed. Practice mode could be so much better. Practice should have a tutorials, that would be great for players that don't much about playing the game or the game in general. Not only that but, there is so much that could be added to practice mode but, It continues to be ignored it seems.
