NO! Madden should be much further ahead than it is now.

Can we please have 1 thread, where you guys don't hijack it with Finn's Editor and 2k5. My God, really!

Again, I admit EA Sports should have this franchise a lot further than what it is, and yes I'm not satisfied with it, but doesn't mean when I play it, that I'm not happy with what I'm playing.

I've enjoyed Madden NFL 10 quite a bit this season and even played it more than I did 09.

One thing I really dislike even more are the outrageous achievements / goals to get the points. The Franchise mode is nice, but I think the menu system is just terrible.

Online matches for me were fine, and the online franchise mode was a nice touch in 10. I welcome whatever they add, but as I was playing a while back. The one thing this game is missing, that could have had it #1 in peoples minds a long time ago!

Is very simple: Animations!!! I was watching a few videos I made of Madden NFL 09 and 10. And it's simply an animation thing, Ian might not think that adding those uncontrollable animations, but that is the one thing that sets it back. Player movement and player body types. Outside of that, this series has been pretty good / decent.

Also as we've mentioned before, presentation, replay camera, and lack of things are still what draws it back, something can could have been a simple fix and upgrade.

I played Madden 10 a lot more than Madden 09, probably 5 times more at least.

I concur here. I'm pleased at where we are at the moment. I enjoy 10, flaws and all. Fully recognize what needs to be fixed but still love the game. I get atleast 1 franchise game daily. Matter of fact, I'm about to get it in as soon as I'm done typing this, thank you kind sirs, lol.

i think you guys are missing the point though.
yes madden 10 was "better" than all the previous maddens on this ggen but it is still not better than games made 5 years ago and on a lesser system(2k and madden both)

so 5 years later, we still dont have a game comparable and your not disappointed?

I am highly disappointed, I just said that Madden 10 was a lot better than 09, that still doesn't mean it's where it should be..

Madden 10 is what Madden 06 or 07 should have been IMO.. We are about 3 or 4 years behind, if not more..

That's your opinion, I think it's better than the other games in a lot of aspects. And at the same time poor in areas. So we didn't miss the point.

Areas where it shines and way out shines the other games.

- Dynasty Mode
- Graphics (player model details surpass anything else out or been out)
Stadium lighting, details are remarkable.
- Online
- Player Editing
- Create - a - Player
- Game Modes
- Download Content
- online dynasty mode
- Practices

Areas where it's still behind

- Animations (should be much higher by now)
- Presentation (commentary is poop)
Still no half time show, weekly / nightly wrapups
Lack of fan interactions
- Referees on the field still not really interacting, they are just on the field.
- Injury animations are still poop, bring on the stretchers and the carts, take time out to show it, just like real TV. Madden use to do that when visual concepts made it. It was a nice touch of realism.
- On field camera needs work to show more depth of field.

Madden NFL 05

Madden NFL 10

and just for kicks...

NFL 2k5

Of course I can't speak for everyone. But doesn't it seem like one of the words most used to describe this gen of Madden is..."boring".

I know for myself, many times it was tough just to get through a game of off-line play. And I'd just kinda sleepwalk through off-line franchise mode. I had honestly fallen asleep with controller in hand more than once.
