Well you also got to remember everyone lives in different parts of the country. Every NFL team runs a different playbooks. I watch the panthers play because I live in the carolinas. The panthers rarly use shovel pass. I really don't recall the last time they used it. Some teams might use it. But I haven't seen the panthers use it. So it is hard to tell if the shovel pass is been used alot in the nfl today. Can't blame me for saying what I said you know what I mean bro.

I know what you mean, but just because the panther's don't use it doesn't mean that it is rare. It's more common than a lot of other plays that ARE featured in Madden. Plus if they are going for authentic playbooks then they would include EVERYTHING, no matter how infrequently it is used. In addition it isn't a specialized play for a single team, such as the patriots' pass to Moss, Pass back to Brady, actually I think the steelers might use some version of that too. Regardless the shovel is used by several teams in the NFL, and you are right, not very often. But it would be unrealistic to think that it shouldn't be featured.

Re: Shovel pass

I know Brett Favre did it some in Green Bay. Not sure if it was designed shovel pass tho. Think it may have been more of an improv thing.

Re: Shovel pass

brett favre does it all the time, i've also seen cutler do it, most of the elusive quarterbacks use it at some point, i think it shouldn't be a play in a playbook but if there is a route for a RB or whoever that is right at the line of scrimmage as a safety valve and you are under pressure or scrambling around there needs to be a button combination to do it...
