Are you losing interest in Madden

I don't know what it is. I am going to be 31 this year with 3 kids when Madden 11 hits and I reserved it but, I think it was just out of habit and I am not sure if my $60 will be well spent. I did enjoy 09 and 10 but, I just don't get to play enough anymore. However I still enjoy NBA 2k series and MLB 2k series so maybe it is Madden not having enough to keep me pumped.

I have a good interest in Madden as I do most years. I have a great interest in NCAA Football because I'm more of a college football video game guy now. I think that has to do with me being in college right now and loving college and getting addicted to the passion of college football.

Madden's release date hurts me in terms of wnating it and playing it due to college starting two weeks after it for me. Last year I played 2 full seasons of Madden with my Titans and loved it, but even on all madden I lost 3 games in those two seasons, winning the Super Bowl in both. I loved playing it but I am busier now with college and work so I stopped playing and sold it last October sadly.

NCAA I played 10 seasons of dynasty playing almost EVERY game with my Kentucky Wildcat dynasty and it was fun. It being released in July helped me play it more as I had more free time til school started.

I love both games but I will say my interest in both are less than usual even though both look good this year SO FAR. And I know this was a madden topic but I felt it applies to both football games for me.

Ever since the license ended, innovation has died imo. This is the biggest factor in the decline of interest.

No matter what side of the fence you were on back in the day, yearly releases were always packed full of innovation and freshness. Now, it's like...meh. Most of the things they push out as innovation these days are either things we had five years ago or useless.

Fading fast / close to gone... loving the tech side of games, I still read about it and see what it is capable of but... Man I got bills to pay, I don't have time to waste $60 bucks lol

I'm not at all excited about Madden anymore.

Theres just nothing exciting about the Madden series to me. besides the graphics, nothing has improved since last gen, and I actually think that the graphics are not even so great(BB's is in another league right now). They make these dev videos and use words that make there game sound so much better and advanced year in and year out, yet the following year they say how last years game had flaws/wasnt so great, but the new games going to be so great. Its actually funny, because I cant believe after all these years, people still buy into what there saying. I actually think of the devs as a marketing team more then a developing team.

rooney you're right, i don't have the same blind loyalty either and 09 was not a good game. You have the right idea - to lower your expectations. the truth is not only is ea to blame somewhat here but we all must realize as we have gotten older we won't have the same "christmas day" excitement toward this title like we did when we were kids. that's just growing up. so that's part of it too.
