Remember Madden 10 Promises?

Just wanted to reflect on what was promised and what actual made the game.

Take a look at the videos above from the Madden 10 Development team. These are there videos that they created showing us how they were fixing Madden and that we would see it in Madden 10.

Did these things make it into Madden 10 in your eyes?

Does this give you the confidence in Madden 11?

Looked nothing like that when the actual gameplay came out. In my eyes no it didn't make it.

I'm skeptical about certain things that have been promised this year but, I think there is a good chance it'll be better this year.

By how much is the real question though so yeah I got a little confidence.

It's obvious the developers and marketing team come up with all these blogs and all these "how it's made, "behind the scenes" videos are just to get you to think that somethings are actually being changed. None of this is needed, just make the damn game. They're just trying to win us over.

I think that is the result of something shown early in the game's development cycle, but not making the final game. Last year for Madden 10, I remember some of the Community Day guys saying that the movement of the game (locomotion) was noticeably better. It turned out differently when the game was released as Phil Frazier said that things seen in the game early on have a tendency to change after several more months of development. Madden and NCAA's new locomotion is heavily tauted this year, which it wasn't the case last year. I certainly don't think that people should fear that this won't make it into the game.

What doesn't make sense to me is how realistic the players run in those green screen clips, and then in Madden they run like robots. Also, what pisses me off is how awesome the WR/DB interaction is and how great running routes look in those clips. It looks pretty freaking awesome, but to me it's totally not the same thing you see in Madden 10, not even close.

Honestly last year is last year. Now people wonder why they ain't giving info out this year like last year. They want to make sure stuff work before putting out the info. I think madden 11 will be fine.
