I just got the 1 red ring of death. Which means my hardrive from my elite is good. Can I buy an arcade and use my elite hardrive?

That's the E74 error. And yes, you can use the hard drive from your Elite and use it on any other system.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think E74 is covered under Microsoft's warranty right now. Should give support a call. 1-800-4My-Xbox

Just did a quick search, and E74(1 red light) is covered as of right now. Definitely give support a call and get your console repaired. Save yourself 200 bucks.
