Madden 10 to 11 blog comparison

I was going to make a reply in the Franchise Speculation post about the lack of franchise information and it got rather long and interesting to me.

I noticed there was MUCH more information released for M10.

I also noticed there APPEARS to be a lot more changes from M09 to M10 then M10 to M11.

I also want to note that by this time last year there was already a Franchise Mode blog.

I FEEL that last year there was A LOT more community involvement from EA (mostly Ian, Phil, Josh, and Donny) then there seems to be this year. There were more post on various forums, more blogs, etc. Last year they seemed to WANT our opinion on various subjects and really seemed to WANT to be involved with the Madden forum community. I feel this year they have had some community involvement but just with a small elite section of the community not it as a whole.

If I am missing some key information please let me know but those M11 blogs are the biggest changes I am aware of.

QFT...

You are right on the money with this post. I am starting to focus most of my football interest towards NCAA 11 this year.

Nice write up...sort of just stating the obvious though. We all know that there has been MUCH less interaction in this dev cycle.

Nice writeup and analysis.

As Rgiles stated, it's been mentioned in a few threads already.

Heh, I did something similar in a GameFlow thread a while back. Could have saved ya some time!

Let's review the new feature blogs from Madden 10, from the first blog released, and up until this time last year:

Blog 1 (02/01) - Procedural Awareness
Blog 2 (02/09) - New Ratings Philosphy
Blog 3 (02/16) - Quick update on tackles / half sacks
Blog 4 (02/23) - QB Position Improvements
Blog 5 (03/02) - WB/DB Interactions
Blog 6 (03/09) - 'Sim-Style' Game Changes (Pass speed, game speed, animations, ratings, etc.)
Blog 7 (03/16) - Player Momentum
Blog 8 (03/24) - Depth of Field (and other graphic improvements)
Blog 9 (03/30) - Customization in Madden
Blog 10 (04/06) - Franchise Mode Improvements
Blog 11 (04/10) - Adaptive AI
Blog 12 (04/28) - Wildcat in Madden
Blog 13 (05/04) - PRO-TAK
Blog 14 (05/11) - Pass Blocking Improvements
---

Blogs after this time period:

Blog 15 (05/18) - Revamping Injuries
Blog 16 (05/21) - Planes crashing into stadiums
Blog 17 (06/09) - Online Franchise Info (Q&A)
Blog 18 (06/16) - Franchise Improvements (Q&A)
Blog 19 (07/05) - Playbook / CPU Playcalling Improvements

Oh,well... balls. My intention was to show how little information had been released this early last year, and to expect the big stuff later. Whoops. I guess they're holding back this year, as to not shoot the foot. Which I don't think is a terrible idea, considering some of those topics in comparison with some of the louder complaints currently being yelled about by the community.
In any case, I think it's pretty clear they're trying not to shoot themselves in the foot, considering the premature release of features (that didn't make it in the final build) last year.

Yeah, the amount of blogging and/or info on this site is hardly indicative of a lesser product. It may be simply that they have changed their viewpoint on how to release information in regards to expectations. As mikealltogether says in his post, they probably are hesitant to release information because of last year.

This could be VERY true, but lack of info doesn't bring much confidence.
