Will EA charge for Online Franchise again?

Just wondering if anyone knows? If so im going to be pissed yet again. I know if you buy the game new you get an code but I have 2 people where I live that will get into an online franchise (Me and my bro) and last year I had to pay so the second person could play it. Money bags...I mean EA need to realize that they are already getting my $60, why do they also need to charge for an feature that is supost to be included with the game.

http://www.easports.com/onlinepass

Yes you will have to pay $10 for online access if you buy the game used. However, you shouldn't have to pay per user on that account.

Do I need an unique Online Pass for every user on my console?

No. One Online Pass will give online access to multiple users logged into the console where the Online Pass was first activated (subject to the console manufacturer’s and EA online terms of service).

Also, the user that activated the Online Pass will be allowed to access online features on other consoles (of the same manufacturer) by logging into the same account credentials that they used when they enabled the Online Pass.

Hey while we are on the subject I have a question.

Lets say I have two PS3s. Will the online pass work for both systems?

The way I read it and I could be completely wrong here is it will work for anyone on the console your register with and then for your GT only on other consoles.

I believe it will work on both systems. As long as you use the same Xbox 360 gamer tag or Playstation3 persona on both consoles.

edit: Danimal beat me to it.

Re: Will EA charge for Online Franchise again?

Thats not good, because that means there needs to be one exclusive PSN name for free access...

say a guy buys Madden 11 and he gets the code up on his PS3 with the PSN "Spaghetti567"... if he can make other user names like "RedDryer92" and "Firestarter18" - he mainly plays Madden on the name RedDryer92.

Say the guy who made Spaghetti567 gave me the password and all that for his user name. Now that I have Spaghetti567 who exclusively owns the Madden11 game and codes - will I now have the access to online and stuff for free?

The Spaghetti name will be a User name, but i will be able to access Madden 11 with my own PSN on my own PS3
If so, a little problem here for EA

Re: Will EA charge for Online Franchise again?

I read your message 3 times and I'm not sure I understand it. The way I read it the scenario goes like this:

- buy game
- sign in with game activate online pass.
- Server notes GT and System ID
- Any GT on that system Id are fine to play.
- Take game to friends, try and get online must use GT you activated the code with.

Now not playing much online on the PS3, I don't know if there is a loop hole or not but for the 360 that's the way I read it.
