Do you "dumb" down your game to play Madden?

This is something I caught myself doing years ago and was a major reason I quit playing Madden for a couple of years. I found myself dumbing down my playmaking.
What do I mean by this?
I think all of us have "go to plays", plays that we know will get us the yards we need. Often I would find myself calling plays on 1st and 2nd down just to see if I could make them work. If they failed I would use one of my "go to" plays on 3rd down in order to pick up the 1st.

If I wanted to I could use these plays over and over and really run up the score. But I didn't want to play that way so I would dumb down my play calling in order to have a more competitive game. Essentially I'm fooling myself into thinking the AI was better then it really was.
Anyone else catch themselves doing this?

I did until I discovered custom sliders on
here. Since then, i've had Lots of close games, many of them
tough and even lost a few. Try it.

No not really. I pretty much put it on All madden and then the AI will challenge me.

Sadly yes. I rarely make any adjustments on offense or defense; because I don't believe the A.I. makes any adjustments such as hot routes, audibles, etc.

I don't do anything that the AI teams will not do. I never call the same plays over and over again.

But haven't they told us for years that if you call the same play over and over the AI will adjust and shut that play down?

On NCAA 08 I took a middle of the pack school and matched it with the top ranked school in the game. I used 2 plays over and over again and easily beat the AI on Heisman level. It was at this point I truly realized how much I had been fooling myself.

I don't ever call my own plays, since using "Ask Madden" my games have become way more competitive vs the cpu.

Thats why Im in love with the new gameplan feature. Its ask madden but 10x better.

I gimp myself for sure.....Sure ALL-Madden provides a FLASE sense of opposition, but in the end, the score usually ends up the same...Me winning by 1-3 TDs with just about any team....

Yes i use sliders.....I only use ASK MADDEN for plays on both O and D...I dont HOT ROUTE and VERY seldom do i audible....DOnt deliberatley call MONEY plays unless they come up in Ask Madden.

I lose here and there....Mainly in the 4th when the CPU decides its going to win....But overall....The challenge is minimal and bordom insues after 1-3 games.
