I would hope if you turn it off the ball isn't awarded to the wrong team on occasion as happened last year. My guy would jump on the ball, then that damn animation would trigger, and then I wouldn't have the ball anymore. I turned it off because I didn't like the feature, EA, not because I was sick of button mashing.

That's one thing that didn't seem to make it's way to NCAA 11 demo. Comp fumbled several times and it was just a bunch of guys going for it, no fight for the fumble ala Madden 10.

Turning it off doesn't make you win the fight automatically because you were on first. It takes into account ratings to determine who wins.
