M12: What are the odds?

That Madden 12's biggest feature will be "real-time physics?" And no, I didn't make this thread to flame.

I would say, very doubtful.

There won't be a fundamental technology change like that until the next generation of consoles, unless that work now could be leveraged also on those consoles.

Considering that the other EA titles are getting it, and it is conceivable that they share tech, I'd say that the odds are somewhat decent. Now whether it will be any good or not... well, I don't even think odds makers would cover that lol.

Well NHL 11, and NBA Elite 11 are using real-time physics, so that gave me the impression that perhaps the Madden team is going to use that for M12 as well, considering the lack of significant animation changes in Madden 11.

Someone else had posted a thread like mine already, didn't know though.

Re: M12: What are the odds?

Small chance. I think their plan is to go all out on franchise and superstar next year, and to redo most of their gameplay this year.

However considering Nba Elite and Nhl 11 have it their is a chance.

Re: M12: What are the odds?

I was thinking maybe Madden 13 if the other games do well with the new tech.

Re: M12: What are the odds?

I'm guessing that since BackBreaker has a physics engine, Madden won't be too far behind. I fully expect a physics based engine of some type (even if it's not the greatest) in Madden 12. Reason being:

Backbreaker hype about Euphoria started about 2 years ago, and the game pushed the envelope in that direction. The last time a football game "out-teched" Madden with 3-D player models, I recall EA moving pretty fast to close the gap...

EA has sense... They are well aware that with the success of Backbreaker's engine, they can't use the excuse that the hardware can't handle it anymore.

NO EXCUSES = GET TO WORK

That's just what EA will do.
