REAL TIME PHYSICS?

Does anybody know EA's definition of this technology? NHL and NBA Elite is using this technology, I hope it catches on to Madden also, though I think it's inevitable. I think I have a idea of what it is, it give players total control by not locking them into a animation, this would be amazing for Madden, hopefully it will be in Madden 12.

Well Big Larry, i don't know what EA's definition is. What i do know is at the start of this generation of consoles, Sony's Ken Kutaragi was touting the PS3 and it's Cell "broadband" engine as being able to handle "real time calculations", which were described to change the way games are played because it would do away with Motion captured, canned animations that are limited and play out over and over and over again.

I thought "next gen" was going to bring a much more life like, organic, fluid feel to the way players interacted with each other, the ball, and the environment. Honestly, Backbreaker is pretty close, except the game isn't a great NFL Football game, it's more of a "tech demo" of what IS possible on these consoles. Madden hasn't even come close to realistic physics.

Re: REAL TIME PHYSICS?

I'm sure we'll see real time physics shortly. 12 or 13 I'm guessing. It IS coming though, I think we can all agree on that.

Re: REAL TIME PHYSICS?

From my understanding it means that the animation is not pre-determined, but rather triggered by real time calculations depending on what works best in that situation. Don't quote me on this though.

But it is potentially better than locomotion.

Re: REAL TIME PHYSICS?

It would be nice for madden and ncaa to have real time physics. But I want to play NHL 11 before hoping that madden and ncaa gets it. But it would be nice if it is next year.
