My expectations come from my observations. My expectations are fairly low... I expect this game to be better than Madden 10. Nothing more, nothing less.

My expectations come from the histroy of the entire series... I expect the FEEL OF MADDEN above all else.

Other than that, I'm not expecting anything earth shattering... IMO Earth Shattering is synonymous with BAD.

Re: Where do your expectations for the game come from?

I expect an improvement over the previous year's effort.

This seemed mostly the case on last gen, but because of a total rewrite current gen maddens were terrible for 2-3 years with only graphics to tout as the advantage to being next gen.

Madden 10 turned things around and I'm back to expecting an improvement year over year. The only thing I can't stand is new bugs and glitches. They have to progress forward, and when I see an issue that wasn't a problem in last year's title, then I get frustrated with EA.

I thought Madden 06 sucked, 07 sucked, 08 sucked, 09 sucked a little less, and 10 was pretty good. So I expect the game to be better than M10. Doesn't even have to be significantly better than M10, but I would like to see some improvement.

I guess my expectations for Madden '11' would be, that for what is there...for those things to work correctly.

Re: Where do your expectations for the game come from?

Well my expectations comes from the greatness that was Madden 05 and NFL 2K5 on PS2 and XBox. Those games set the standard on LAST-GEN and no Madden has even come close to what those two games produced. NFL 2K5 had great physics and Madden had good gameplay and both had stellar Franchise Mode. Franchise Modes on this gen seem like a glorified exhibition mode where you play scheduled games. It lacks the substance and polish that Franchise Mode was on last-gen.

Franchise/Dynasty Modes are the reason why I play sports games. I could care less about online or playing someone else. My theory is, I should be able to enjoy a video game on my own before I need a second person to make it enjoyable. Leading a team to the Super Bowl is one thing, but I need to be entertained along the way (Real Halftime Reports, Concession MGMT, News Articles/Radio Shows, Twitter-Trash talk, Whatever it takes to keep me caring and playing this mode).

my expectations come from the other games in my ps3 library. games like god of war 3 and uncharted 2 make me want that level of excellence from any title i might buy. these games are very good at showcasing the shortcomings of other games out there, that's for sure.

My score for Madden 13: 4.5/10

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.
