Re: Flats look covered to me.

Playing the NCAA demo, I've seen the flats covered when they needed to be covered. I was surprised.

Video does not tell the story. I need to demo the game to confirm that flats are fixed.

How about man coverage in the flats? In M10 it was impossible for the AI to cover flats in man coverage.

While I'm on it...whata bout man alignment?

Of course calling the right defense will make all the differance....But overall, even when you put someone there, RB/FB still can get quite open...

But i am pretty confident that slider tweaks will work out most of the issues....

I'm thinking what more people want to see is that when you call a defense to cover the flats, there's more disruption on swing routes and screens than there is...even with coverage, it still seems like an easy completion and usually a yard or two gain...there should just be some disruption, possibilities for fumbles/incompletions and loss of yards if you have someone there...not giving a cushion for the catch, then the tackle...

I think it is just the consistancy of them being covered. Even if i am in Man and have a quick MLB/OLB they are still slow to get out to their man...In zone, it seems like they wait for the catch then attack but dont seem to make a play or disrupt the pass with any regularity.

Re: Flats look covered to me.

I used to sing the same line about calling the correct defense for the situation when people were complaining about the terrible flats coverage in M10. However, that really is only part of the story. You also have to have players with great PRC ratings if you don't want to manually cover the flats every time. Even Cover 2 zones seemed relatively worthless against the flats if you have a CB with low PRC...or worse, low tackle ratings since a lot of running backs will just run right through CBs.

One thing I've NEVER understood about the flats is how HBs always manage to catch the ball. I've probably played close to 1000 games this year and only seen a handful of dropped balls by HBs in the flats. EA seems to love balancing poor coverage with randomly dropped balls on downfield passes, so why doesn't this apply to the flats? Maybe they just don't want to frustrate gamers.

I'm curious to see what locomotion does for coverage in general since it really does seem to be a feature that benefits the offense without any defensive compensation. Agile halfbacks may be a nightmare to cover this year even more than they were in M10.

If Ronnie Brown can torch 2 quality CBs who have great PRC in Cincinnati, what will Bush, CJ and others be able to do?

Hope it not another year where my RB has over 15 TD catches by week 12...Last year K. Faulk had over 1000 yds receiving. Averaged 11.7 yds per catch and had 7 Tds over 50 yds (playing with sliders between All pro and All madden). Post patch, it was a lil bit better but not much.

That video was on All-Pro and that particular play looked like Cover 3 to me at a glance, so you'd expect Brown to be open...though it was just a flip from the previous play, so it'd be nice if the AI was a little better even on that difficulty. Not saying it's necessarily going to be better on All-Madden, but one can hope......
