(Madden 08, PS2)Big game, and the computer doing well

I'm playing SS mode in Madden 08 on the PS2, and I'm a but surprized how well the CPU is doing with the Bills team I'm playing for. In real life, the Bills were 0-2, and lost their TE to a career ending injury. Here, however, they're 2-0 (though somewhere in the middle offensively and defensively).

It's not because of my work either (Starting DE, 4 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 sack, 1 deflection). But i did get the sack on Big Ben that prevented them from having the time to try for a game winning TD from 3 yards away, and getting my first deflected pass in SS mode ever.

I'm wondering if my sliders are the reason the Superstar Bills are playing so well, or if it's just good luck. The Patriots game in week 3 is going to be the true test.
