Why call out new players? Without new players Madden would have died. They have to try to do new things to attract newer and younger players. Just like they did for the original poster in 2001. By 2001 I was already hooked.

The OP was just referring to the fact the game caters to more casual players and those who are new to the series or have not played in a while.

Get back on topic please.

i totally agree. as long as the core of the game stays, i love madden. i dont mind all the new "gimmick" features (rewind, etc.) and i actually think ill like the strategy pad once i figure out the buttons so i can do it fast

Calling casual players or players new to the series "noobs" is an insult. He was "NEW" to the series in 2001. 2001? Kids? I started playing madden when i was a kid! I am assuming everyone did. Not many guys picking up madden for the first time at 30 years old. So yes, they do need to cater to "kids".

I am pointing out two things...

1. If they didnt cater to kids, the series would have died out before the OP even started playing the GAME.

2. Calling new players noobs is stupid and an insult. Especially stupid when you started playing a series 10-12 years after it started.

Look, I just don't see this. What did they add? Gameflow? Other than that , which can be shut off there is not ONE feature I find excessively catered toward rookies. I see they added a tool which will help the rookies learn the game...all businesses try to get new customers. They haven't gone any less 'sim' as far as I can see. They've been trying to do this for years, with tutorials, practice modes, etc. etc... I disagree with the entire premise. One or two features does not a game make.

No it's not, if you're a "noob" then you're a "noob". You can always point them out too. They always try to throw the fade routes, and I always pick them.

If you use the term noob, you are most likely a noob to a game, or video games in general. Noob was not a term in the early 80s.
