Umm, I majored in Poly Sci: Econ and that wasn't part of it.

Competition didn't work out too well for the NHL2K series. Nor did it work out too well for the Tony Hawk series, or the NBA Live series, or the Medal of Honor series, Prizefighter....the list goes on. For every great game that came out during a time of competition one could name another that failed and became extinct during a time of competition. You know what leads to great games? Strong leadership, solid goals, and a talented workforce. Madden and NCAA have made very strong strides the last couple of years with new leadership in place...........and zero competition.

I don't understand your post. Econ and what wasn't a part of what?

All I was trying to say is that to say it's a "logical fallicy" to blame the exclusivity deal on some of madden's shortcomings shows a lack of understanding of competition in the marketplace - you know...economic stuff.

Am I 100% confident that it would be better? No - but the chances are it would be - that's all.

If they wanted to make the game easier to pick up for someone who is new to Madden, wouldn't it be easier to just include a detailed instruction manual with the game explaining all the controls and what all of the pre-snap adjustments etc are?

That's a good point. But I also think they're taking the long term view, that this change will increase everyone's experience. I mean they're not trying to sell less. And since it costs 4 to 10 times more for most businesses to get a new customer than a keep an old one, I think they probably thought this through pretty well
