they still do. it depends on the wr /corner matchup

reggie wayne gets open all day unless revis is on him. he gets crazy seperation from any db on any route except maybe a go.

There are still instances where the WR gets hung-up on a defender when trying to cut back (I hate that the animation is still in) and the play will get botched, but in terms of actual coverage, it's not too tight.

The passing game in general feels too wide-open (in the demo, at least) underneath because of this.

EDIT: More on-topic, the sideline play and general awareness of WRs is a big improvement, however. If they can tweak the DB play, the passing game would probably look pretty good.

i 100%agree

Re: madden 11 the rebirth of out route and comeback route

Those routes will only work with sliders. Actually most routes will only work with sliders. Just like on default settings in NCAA, the DBs in Madden will make the cut before the WR. On an out route I had Bob Sanders cut towards the sideline before my WR made the cut. It happens every play almost. Sliders can fix it though, but the passing game as a whole in EA games is pretty bad and not realistic at all.

I wouldnt mind dbs jumping routes in certain defenses ie 2 man under if a db has help over the top he can take a chance where as a db in zero coverage should be more cautious as there is no help and if you bite too hard its paydirt

Re: madden 11 the rebirth of out route and comeback route

I learned to master throwing the corner route against any coverage in Madden '04. Learned to master the comeback route in '09.

Once I learn it, I'll use it regardless of the year.

TNT,

What's your formula for throwing the comeback route, specifically against press man? For me, it takes a long time to develop. How do you work your eyes as far as pocket presence against the rush? Do you use slide protection when you call it?

Also, for me the rules seem to be different depending on what side of the field it is. Do you do anything different depending on which hashmark you're on?

Don't agree with the out route, I've used it many times before.

Corner routes are nearly impossible. I tried one with Sanchez in M11 and he got it, so maybe things have changed.

Still scared to throw a simple curl route. The coverage always manages to get in front of it.
