They're not using their names, numbers or physical likeness in the game; that's going to be a pretty tough fight for the players IMO.

And do the players even have the jurisdiction to claim they own the stats? Aren't those the property of the NFL ? The NFL thought so when it sued to stop fantasy football leagues... how many people can have rights to one property?

How close are the likenesses to the players? I do remember in the Madden had realistic physical attributes, color and jersey number. I mean, it isn't hard to identify who 6'5" QB #8 is of the 1995 Cowboys.

It's funny how other companies really watch themselves (notice how tough the other current next-gen game made it to use historical NFL player and team data) and EA continues to ignore and get cute with the rules.

See Tim Tribow (#15, Florida, eerily similar to Tebow), Jack English, Boar Jackson.... etc.

I wonder if they are suing over Madden 09 PS2 lol. If I remember correctly, wasn't Madden 09 360 the one where they started getting hall of fame players the legit way? I think in Madden 09 for 360, they did it by a volunteer/low fee method. That's why there were a lot of missing greats in the Hall of fame roster from that game.

Come to think of it, I remember "the classic teams" in Madden 09 for the Wii as well. Now there is your money maker. It was wrong for EA to play with the rules over the years, but this seems like a last minute money grab as EA has pulled the classic teams from all of the '10 games and up.

Really!!!! Didn't the Vets just got through sueing EA over this same issue this past year are something. I mean come on I respect these Vets of the game. But come on. Why are they going through all this for. Just because they think it might looks like them in the game doesn't mean it is them. Plus you know EA going to win no matter what. The Vets just don't have enough proof to win. All I can say to both sides is good luck. This seems pretty dumb to me.

?? Well Farve has nothing to do with this. Farve played last year. This group of Vets are guys who haven't played in years. So pretty much Brett is out of the loop on this deal. But again I doubt these vets have any real good proof to even win agaist the EA.
