Summerall/Madden were great... I miss hearing Pat on the weekends nowadays.

LOL @ the radio announcer concept, that still cracks me up to the day that someone, ANYONE, thought that was a good idea.

I am pretty sure you're right. It's shaking my head.

I think that was spin for, " We couldn't get commentary in fast enough to to ship the game" from the previous dev team. Just my opinion

I wish Joe Buck and Troy Aikmen were announcers.

John Madden was OK. Al Michaels had no emotion in his remarks and was hard to hear and understand what he was saying at times on Madden games. I like Tom & Chris the best.

Yeah I remember the old Madden games when the competition was better (i.e. Montana Sports Talk, Deion Sanders Football on Sega, 2K Sports) and they had Summerall who was AWFUL, Madden sucked as well IMO, Al Michaels was very good though, wish they still had him.

BTW why would they NOT use Madden in his own game? Doesnt make much sense...

What I loved about Summerall is that his monotone voice was well-suited for a videogame, where the comments are done in small pieces and stitched together during the game. With the more dynamic broadcasters like Michaels, the comments don't flow as well.

I was so excited years back when EA teamed with ESPN, as I foolishly thought EA was going to make SOME use of this, and here we are some 4 years later and all we get is SC updates and the ESPN logo when the game starts. I would like to hear the Monday Night guys. I mean hell ESPN uses EA more in its broadcasts than EA uses ESPN
