This is where I would assume Madden is going to fall this year. Mid - high 8's. Isn't this the same score the game got last year?

If EA really wants to take Madden to the next level, they must finally employ a deep and dynamic broadcast style presentation and commentary and reinstate franchise details from last generation. (newspaper stories, around the league highlights, telecast camera options, etc.)

I think Madden 11 will turn out to be a very solid game that still hasn't achieved its true potential. We'll find out tomorrow.

Seems like a fair review. Could even be given worse due to the lack of effort in the franchise department. I really hope they blow us all away in this dept next year.

I agree the review seems accurate and it's discouraging that they really haven't made any changes to franchise mode. I wish Madden had some competition similar to the easports franchise, NBA Elite 11. NBA 2k series has always been better, but ea sports revamped their whole basketball franchise in order to compete with 2K. This forced 2K to refine and revamp certain areas, which probably has resulted in a win-win situation for the consumer. In my mind, this year's madden is still a win, but I'll probably thought of what could have been if they had a competitor and hopefully next year they sit down and make solid improvements to franchise mode. Also I was kind of struck by the lack of developmental blogs Madden had this year preceding the release compared to last year, and even the NCAA Football 11. However, I'm still going to play the game and get enjoyment out of it, but it would be nice if Madden had some competition.
