So here is EA's official response to the strategy pad controversy, in which they said:

"We do believe that this change is for the better, and that in the long run it delivers a much more positive experience to the gamers that are willing to try and adapt. Due to the overwhelming feedback however, we will be providing the old-style button commands as an option that can be enabled. We are currently targeting this change to be released around the first week of the NFL season as it will take some time to get through third party approvals."

Im just curious, does anybody actually like this strategy pad? Do you think it's a change for the better? Does anybody think it could work in the long run? Please state in your response if you're an online gamer, offline franchise player, or both.

I prefer it all in one area the way it is now, its faster for me to make adjustments.

im a offline play now/franchise player and i dont mind it, but once i get used to it a bit more, it will be better. it is nice all i got to do is move the d-pad and either stick, but i've been playin madden since 01, so its kinda weird not having the face buttons to switch a play or hot route. overall its not bad

Now that I'm used to it, I don't mind it. I'm fine either way.

I am a pro with it already. It is simple, fast and once you make a effort to learn it it becomes second nature.

A huge uproar indeed. And I agree it should be an option to have classic controls.

But I adapt to and welcome change.

Like anything new it is frustrating at first but I have since have warmed up to it and doing alot better with it. Still EA should have put the old way in so everybody is happen, at least it is getting patched.

Take away the need to press a button to "initiate" it, and I might like it.

Even sending guys in motion adds an extra button press which is unnecessary.

Love it!!! I despised it at 1st when the demo was released but after a week of it on the retail copy I'm sticking with it. Call me crazy.
