All Madden??Not as bad as people think
let me start by saying that im from australia and ive been watching the nfl for about 15 years now.ive been buying and playing madden since 92 on the sega, however i dont think of myself as being a master of madden(although id like to get there one day)however i always like to play the game on all madden with no slider tweaks.i do this every year and every year i get frustrated, but i keep practising and practising.now, i just got madden 11 on the ps3 a day ago and have only played a few games to get the feel of it. ive read on this forumthat everyone is complaining about broken tackles and lack of defense.while this isnt wrong by any means.i use the pittsburgh steelers and i played a little bit against the colts last night to test my defense against an offensive powerhouse, and lets just say i think i did pretty goo for someone with lack of stick skills. to me its all about calling the right plays and mixing them up alot, however, i also found that audibling to a blitz worked very well too. i was able to get a ton of pressure when i started doing that, and then even when i went to the zone defense, i found that the 3 man front was still able to throw manning off a little as he was getting pressured and throwing too short or too long. i allowed 2 1st quater fg's and stopped their drive 3 times. they had 5 drives because i threw 2 real bad passes for int's.they only had 74 total yards in the first quater. now, secondly, the broken tackles is a little bit much, but i found when i laid of the hit stick and came at a runner front on, more often than not, i was getting the tackle done. now there were a few broken tackles but i can live with that. i also found that when i was audbling to the blitz by pressing square every now and then, that i had better pursuit on the ball carrier. i dont know why but it was working. i dont know if this helps anyone but i thought id share.
