Re: Madden\'s player models..

I have two issues with Madden's player models.

1) too small...they use less polys than 2k or Fever (30%).

2) Not detailed enough. They shouldn't look like manaquins.

Other than that, I don't have a problem.

WTF? Are you smoking crack? Madden "...looks more like real life.."!!??!! Geez, get outside and look at real life you dimwit. Look at that screenshot of Jeff Garcia. Do you think that looks like reality? If so, you live in a parallel universe where daylight is omni-directional, the rotator of the shoulder is attached somewhere in the ribcage, and human heads are too big with eyes set too far apart.

( I spit on the ground here).

Keshawn Johnson IRL(2 pics) vs NFL2k4(2pics) vs Madden(2pics)

Theres no arguement here. NFL2k4 clearly has the more realistic Model.
Although Madden's version of KJ has the better Helmet and facemask....overall ESPN's version is clearly more realistic. BTW, th ESPN KJ pic is more indicative of what I saw in the latest Gamespot Videos where the player models look pretty spot-on. I love Madden's helmets and facemasks though.

Willis McGahee IRL Vs NFL2k4 vs Madden 20004

sorry about the quality of this one but I couldn't find a clearer one. EA took the Rookie Pics down. I checked IGN but their MaddenMedia pages are down. Besides, does it really matter when Willis Looks...

..this good in ESPNFL? No. Only thing mising here is the Visor.

Re: Madden\'s player models..

I agree with BK, I prefer the Sega player models, but the color palette is much better on Madden. Furthermore the lighting is MUCH better in Madden -- Sega's lighting has always be unrealistic to me...

Jeez I was only comparing the Garcia screens! Not the entire game's graphics.

BTW next time use a spitoon, it's kinda nasty spitting on the OS carpet.

What is wrong with maddens player models. I dislike NFL 2ks player models.

I'm with you on that. But it's not a popular opinion

I agree also. I always thought that 2k models looked like robots instead of football players.

Welcome to the happy minority. I'm with y'all. The player models even now look lanky and out of porportion to me.

the 2K series player models are pretty horrible IMO. The actual shape of the players body is too stiff and square. No man has a perfectly straight body. looks like they modeled their players after a cardboard box. There's not enough curves. They wasted too much time putting creeses (sp) in the uniforms and didn't concentrate on the actually shape of the players. It doesn't take a Human Anatomy major to see that.look at yourself in the mirror and tell me if you see perfectly straight lines everywhere on your body.

Re: Madden\'s player models..

Maddens player models look greasy, silky smooth even. They have issues with body proportions cuz now shoulders look way too broad and somewhat disconected from the sockets in some screens. I can't tell if that's a bicept and tricept cuz it's all out of wack. Just the overall proportions of the models give it that short little league look. Also the jerseys looked stitched into the arms and are low resolution with little detail. They look more like imatation jerseys at target. They have paint on armbands except for the elbow pads.
