I have been burned so many times by trying to go for the pick, only to be screwed over with a completely inappropriate animation which caused me to totally miss the ball and give up a play that I NEVER press the pick button anymore unless it's absolutely, positively, blatantly obvious that it's a pick situation.

But now this year my issue is that when trying to use the swat down button, I've seen on a couple occasions where the ball warps through my defender or his hands and into the hands of the receiver for a big gain.

The same thing happened to a cpu on my game. I honestly thought that it was swatted down by the cpu (who had great position to make the play) and it looked like it was swatted down despite the fact that my receiver made the catch. When I looked at the replay, the ball went right through the cpu's hand instead of being swatted down.

I've never seen that happen TO the CPU.

Not saying you're lying or that it didn't happen... I've just never seen it myself.

Swat is the greatest secret weapon. You can fly from anywhere and make the passdefense lol.

So thanks to this thread, I have discovered that using swat instead of intercept turns anyone into a pass blocking machine. It's incredible.

hehe. super lbs are no longer confined to the middle of the field. They can superman jump deep down the field now lol.

I have a habit going for the pick, I just find getting the pick much more satisfying.
And the Swat doesn't work that well as a safety, I've seen the Safeties make a lot of bonehead moves with the swat. They'll totally mis judge the ball, and mis-time their jump.

I just use the INT button. For me, even if I'm way out of position to make the INT, my player will warp / morph / slide into hyper speed for the INT. It looks incredibly unrealistic but it seems way too easy to make picks in this game because of the warping players.
