Linebackers/DBs Switching Coverage Assignments (Glitch?)

I don't know if this is considered a glitch or not, but I've played a few games recently and I've noticed that in man coverage, an lb (usually mlb) and cb will start the play guarding say the TE and RB respectively, but if the receivers "cross" then the defenders will switch.

I didn't really mind that much when the only examples were the TE and RB, however I ran a play the other day which called for the receiver to motion towards the OL, coming near/inside the TE. The WR went inside, the TE went outside, and the MLB ended up covering the WR. Obviously with the way locomotion works now, my wr was open by a good 10 yds.

Luckily there are not a lot of plays affected by this, but IMO It's just another reason why the defense is subpar this year.
