Pre-play controls mix up?

After I installed the patch, I noticed that the strategy pad is still in effect...

For example: if I want to make my OL shift their protection, LT doesn't work, I still need to press down on the D-Pad. Also, when I want to perform any defensive shifts, LB, RB and Y activate the defensive command, yet I can't make the move I want with the L Stick, I still need to use the D-Pad.

It seems to me that EA has mixed the two pre-play settings. If anything this seems to make it a little more difficult, since we won't be able to dedicate ourselves to one pre-play control or another.

I just don't understand the logic behind this, seeing that the reasoning behind the outrage was the difficulty in using the D-Pad on the XBOX and how inaccurate it actually is.

[Oh and BTW, I think to get the Breast Cancer Awareness to work on 360, it appears that both the patch and the Madden Moments Live have to be downloaded for it to work.]

I noticed the same thing with the L analog stick. It looks like EA wants us to use the D-pad this year and we have no choice.
