removing the standard tackle button

does anyone think that Madden should remove the standard tackle button and just have the hit stick to tackle? Because when you just press square your players just get into tackle animations and that causes the quote un-quote "tumble weave" animations. If the anologe stick was the way to hit and tackle their could posibly be more double hit takles and more realistic anitmation. Leave your comments and thoughts about this. Thanks.

I agree. It's time for a more analog interface for tackling. And the hit-stick effect would depend on the tackle rating of the defender.

Re: removing the standard tackle button

I only use square to tackle if I'm trying to chase down a runner on a long play and it's the last line of defense before the touchdown. Otherwise I use the left stick or right stick

Ive been using the Defensive Assist (A BUTTON on XBOX) to tackle. Works pretty great. Get into position, hit A to make the tackle... no more random diving or the classic running right by the guy and then a moronic stumble animation takes place 10 yards down field because hit stick missed.

Thanks. I'm going to try this.

Re: removing the standard tackle button

square button is dive

if you happen to dive directly into the ball carrier and it tackles him, so be it

but it's not a tackle button

tackles happen automatically when the defender runs into the guy

Didn't know there was a "tackle button". I always thought the square was for diving.

Re: removing the standard tackle button

never even use the tackle button, just run up and hit, i might use it if they are breaking away and i think it is my last shot to get him but that is it.
