Does the weather affect the CPU?

I just started my Pats franchise.

As most of you know, the weather in Madden in pre-scripted for the season. And the first 2 games as the Pats are played in heavy Rain.

What upsets me is it seemed like the CPU's WR were running around, making cuts, and sprinting full speed.

Meanwhile, my WR's were slipping all over the place.

Does weather not affect the CPU? Or am I crazy?

Is this a bug? Would it be fixed?

Re: Does the weather affect the CPU?

Playing as Seattle I see a lot of rain.

Weather does affect the CPU... but... not as much as it seems. Last season I hosted Kansas City, and 10 yards out from their end zone Matt Cassell took a 5 step drop and slipped.

But with Tatupu and Curry bearing down on him at a rate of knots, he magically bounced back up and flung the ball 30 yards down to his WR, who magically leaped up to take the catch and run the rest of the way for a TD.

Pure cheeze.

Yeah. It definitely not as bad for the cpu. Especially qb accuracy.

Re: Does the weather affect the CPU?

I read somewhere that weather had no effect on the CPU. BUT, last night I played the divisional playoff round of my Ravens franchise VS the Steelers. The weather definitely has an effect on both teams. I saw them slip more than I did. Held Big Ben to 18-38, 164 yards and no touchdowns. This is with difficult sliders where I gave up almost 800 total passing yards in my 2 seasonal games against Pittsburgh. His accuracy was way off. So for those who say that it has no effect, I big to differ. It was a snowy game, and a final score of 13-6. The lowest scoring game I had all season.

yea usually your QB takes a hit in accuracy in bad weather but the CPU plays like it is in a dome

Re: Does the weather affect the CPU?

Hmm, some mixed impressions.

Im going to try to pay more attention next rain game. Played week 3 of my Patriots franchise last night, which is always a sunny day, so I need more rain.

If its true the CPU is not affected much (which would be weird) it stinks even worse that weather is pre-determined in franchise mode. Because you cant re-sim a sunny day so the CPU does not have an advantage.

Re: Does the weather affect the CPU?

Im using PM's sliders, and I swear it has a better effect on both HUM & CPU. WR's will slip on routes, making the pass incomplete. QB's will slip, sometimes ending in a sack. Only once have I seen a DE slip as he came round the corner.
