Well you should take a look into the custom sliders section ... i would need to know what you prefer in your games ... me i like close games while low scoring ... i come away a lot of games winning or losing by 3 or 2 points which i love but everyone has a different playing style ...
it seems like everyone is in love with mike32ownz but i personally didn't like the set because i was getting very high scoring games ... and i was blowing the other team out of the water ... i have my sets in there but i see no one was really interested in them ... also it seems a lot of people are using play makers sliders also ... choose one that you feel fits you and adjust it to you

Part of the reason "the computer cheats" on All-Madden is because the User Sliders are set to 25. All-Pro is 50 accross the board. My understanding is that computer players are set to 75 on All-Madden, but that doesn't matter as much as setting all the user sliders to 25. That's why you fumble, that's why you drop passes, that's why you cannot tackle or cover receivers or get blocks, or shed blocks.
Custom sliders are the way to play. Everything set to 50 isn't balanced correctly, so some user sliders ned to go below 50, and some above. The same thing with the computer.
Moving forward, there are still areas the user has an advantage. Play calling for one. The AI for playcalling is bad still. It is far better than Madden 10, but it still isn't much of a challenge. It also doesn't help that there is a bug in the game recognizing how many receivers you have. In my Game Plan I set up for the 43 and the 34 base defenses, the computer comes out in 3 wide and the game gives me plays I know are only in my base defensive package and not my nickle book. The first patch was supposed to fix some of this, but it didn't. As a result, you can come out in 3 wide a number of times and have a mismatch because of poor computer play calling.
On top of all of this, as a user, you have a bird's eye view of the field. You can watch the entire defense break down and make your reads. you don't have to watch the game from eye level where you have ot look over 6'4"-6'9" offensive linemen. Having a 6'5" QB isn't really an advantage. I only use Coach Mode [auto Passing] now because of this unfair advantage over the computer. I still control everything else, but the QB I leave to the computer and just accept the results. Part of the fun, to me, is not knowing how your QB will play. It makes having an elite QB matter. Having used Alex Smith and Tom Brady and others, I can tell you it makes a difference, which makes franchise more fun to me.
In conclusion, try to adjust the sliders yourself to help find better balance, and use give Coach Mode a try.
Some examples of slider changes I make and why in spoiler Tags:

Accuracy: 40/50 - if you still are not using coach mode 50/50 if you are.
Pass Blocking: 45/30 - Pass Blockign is too good by default, the computer more so
Catching: 45/45 - Receivers catch too many passes in Madden. Last week was great example of receivers droping a lot of passes in real life. Rushing
Broken Tackles: 45/45 - Too many broken tackles in Madden. A slight lowring keeps you and the computer from braking every other tackle.
Blocking: 45/55 Your team blocks too well, the computer not well enough by default.
Fumbles: 40/40 Unless you are using the strip buton, there are not many fumbles in Madden. Adrian Peterson holds onto the ball at 50 most of the time. Run Defense
Recognition: 40/60 - The computer HB needs help running the ball because it doesn't have a user to guide him, and the computer defense needs help because you are leading your back.
Block Shedding: 50/55 - Shedding is fine, in my opinion for the user, but the computer gets pushed around a lot by default.
Tackling: 55/55 - Again, too many broken tackles for my taste. You still see broken tackle with this setting, but they are not every other play anymore. Pass Defense
Reaction Time: 50/95 - I used to have user set to 80, but they sniffed everything out and the computer could hardly pass on me even with Brees. The computer pass defense needs all the help it can get, even with Coach Mode.
Interceptions: 20/20 - With high reaction time ,the computer will pick nearly everything. Also, user picks should go down as well. The computer makes a number of bad throws right to your D. you still get picks, but are less likely to average 2-3 or more a game now.
Pass Rush: 60/60 - The pass rush needs to be more effective than it is by default. This increase with the lowered pas blocking makes the user and computer QBs feel the pressure far more often. Having "all day to throw" is far less common, like real life.

That has got to be in part becasue Suh is a beast. His ratings make him one of the best NTs in football out of the box. Forget his 85 OVR rating, his his 95 or so block shedding and power moves might as well make him a 95+ OVR player as a rookie. When you don't have someone like Suh, you see linemen get stone walled time and time again, at least I do.

After slider adjustments i beat the Bears with the Lions 24-21 much improved over the 79-0 victory i had on them before.
The Bears led me 13-10 going into the 4th quarters but I had an 82 yard td run to take the lead 17-13 then the Bears failed to convert on 4th down the very next play i ran 25 yards into the endzone to expand my lead 24-13 the Bears drove down the field with a big completion by Jay Cutler and eventually scored a touchdown and converted the 2-pt conversation but failed too recover onside kick and i just took a knee to win the game.
