Sacks By Defensive Ends...

Am I the only one who found it really, really, really hard to buy a sack with a D end in 2003... Id have guys like Kearse, and Rice gettin 2 sacks a season...

Has anyone heard wether this is fixed or not

Yes, this has always been a problem. If NCAA2004 is any indication then don't hold your breath, looks like it is still hard for the DE's to get a good pash rush. I have seen some DB sacks in NCAA2004 which is a step in the right direction.

I would have to disagree as I've been getting plenty of sacks with my D-line in NCAA (playing with default sliders on All American). I definitely thought it was an issue in 2003 for both titles. I get a much better pass rush (esp. from my D-line) in NCAA 2004 compared to 2003. I assume it will be the same for Madden 2004.

I would have 2 agree with both of you on that..i played ncaa last weekend on my friend's xbox and i got like 3 sacks in the 1st half and all with defensive ends...i think it was on all american difficulty or was it varsity...ehhh ne ways but the point is there is a much better pass rush this yr then in madden cause they dont throw the ball alway all quick when u get close 2 the qbs and they dont FADE away and throw so they prevent the sack..well they dont do it as much....MADDEN 2004 4 LIFE>>PEACE!

I don't agree, I set the single season sack record with OSU's fraser and tallied 25 sacks with him in year 1 of my dynasty. I used speed rush alot but also used the mauling/clubbing technique and just killed some teams. I think in my 2nd game (albeit vs some muppet team) I got 6 sacks.

Actually I was beginning to wonder if EA made it TOO easy to get sacks with DE but since Fraser left I've not had such good results. I've also found better teams will adjust to an outside rush (maybe I should say better QBs with higher awareness) and the outside speed rush won't work.

I think it's safe to say though that EA has addressed this *IF* you have a good defensive end and you're not playing an all-pro tackle I think you will be plenty happy. However if you're using someone who can't get sacks in real life don't be surprised if you can't in the game.
