Newb Question: How do I play in Coach Mode?

I want to start a Franchise and play out the games in Coach Mode (which will allow me to only call the plays during a game, w/o having to control the players). I just tried this and my QB was getting constantly sacked on Passing plays because I didn't take control of him (although the running plays worked fine with the AI taking over). Is there a setting I have to choose for Coach Mode or do I just not take control of the player?

I have never played this Mode before, so I apologize for the basic question. Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure it is under "Game Settings" in the My Madden section. Not near my XBox at the moment to check again for you.

You can choose "coach mode" in the settings area (game options). I am a big Head Coach 09 fan, so I actually prefer this mode. This mode will allow you to either take control of the QB (if you wanted), or it will do it for you. The same is true for anyone holding the ball. It's a nice feature overall.
