How is Madden with a 56k online? (PS2)

Just wondering how Madden plays with the ps2 56k modem and does it cost money? I'm a lifelong Madden player (as well as 2k, uhhh, I mean ESPN now) but I've never ventered online and don't have broadband. So I'm basically wondering if it is worth my money to buy the PS2 network adapter if i can only play it online with a 56k. The only other onlien expiernce i've had with football was nfl2k1 on DC with segas 56k and i remember the games always being chuggy and slow. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's my understanding you can only play Madden '04 online with broadband. Dial-Up not supported like it is with NCAA.

i have a feeling that more and more online games will be broadband only. It only improves the quality online, just alot of ppl dont have or cant get broadband.

Yea I heard that too about broadband, but then on the maddenntion boards I heard people disputing it so im not entirely sure. Guess we'll find out the 11th.

really!! First time I heard about this which would suck because I'm in the 56K area that can't get anything but Direcway. 2003 was fun to play with 56K. Had some lag but nothing crazy

Never heard that, I thought you just couldn't use the headset with 56k.

Yeah that's what it is, you can use dialup but just can't use the headset unless you have broadband. For some odd reason people have managed to misunderstand that and twist that into there will be no dialup support which is ridiculious cuz EA never said that.

I played Madden 2003 with dialup for two weeks, then switched to DSL. You can certainly play the game alright on 56k, but it isn't nearly as much fun like that compared to broadband.
