What is the package in play calling all about?

i was just wondering what the package in the play calling screen does.

It puts different personnel on the field for that formation. For example, if you have a normal pro-set with 2WR, 1TE, and 2 RB split in the backfield, you could change to a speed package that would sub in a WR for one of the RBs or the TE, so you'd have a 3 wide receivers in the pro set formation.
