Whatever happened to the "great" teams?

Back in the day, you could play the '84 Dolphins vs the '85 Bears, or something of the like where you could choose the greats from given years in the past. You never got the names of the players, unless they were still active in the NFL, but you got their positions, jersey numbers, and accurate ratings.

Whatever happened to that?

I wanna replay Super Bowl XIX.

Great question I loved that.

I also miss my Madden Cards earned in offline franchise. They were awesome.

Sigh. Yeah the cool little things they dropped from the PS2 glory years...we can go on and on. But let's not.

I used to love loading up a game and playing with Marino or Elway or Jim Brown. Good times.

Ahhh, the things I took for granted.

a few of the players felt they should have been paid to be in the game because their *likeness* was indeed in the game...so they suid the NFLPA...and won

EA has since pulled out all those classic teams/players (likely at the request of the players union)

can't blame EA on this one
