Roster Update Won't Load (Offline) (PS3)

I did a search and couldn't find anything. I brought my friends PS3 home so I could get the new roster update for him because he doesn't have an internet connection. I signed in with my PSN profile and had to make a EA trail account. I downloaded the roster successfully and it showed the changes to the teams and players. I then signed out of my PSN account and unplugged the internet. I went back into the game and went to "file management" and loaded the newest roster which it reads "complete". But then when I go look at the teams and players, nothing has changed like it didn't load. Has anyone else had this problem or know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
