Madden 12 better show franchise some love

i hope they get franchise mode back on track or at least back to the point it was on ps2 (newspaper, radio talk show, position battles, holdouts, full control of finances) and madden 09 progression system (where u got to progress a player before each game) because thats when playing franchise was truly fun and one of the reason i grew to buy madden every year AND CAN WE PLEASE GET A IN STUDIO ANIMATION 2k did it so its long overdue

BUT as far as gameplay, they need to get back to basics and make gameplay based of user vs sim play NOT online user vs user (cuz ur trying to fix what USERS intentonally break with glitches and nanos) PLAYERS AND TEAMS SHOULD PLAY STRICTLY TO RATINGS (yall know yall remember how it was on sega THATS THE ONLY REASON WE PICKED THE ALL MADDEN TEAM cuz only if u were truly gifted u could play with any team)

LASTLY and most importantly the madden brand has to get back to quality and STOP GIVING US A DECISION TO EITHER PLAY WHAT THEY GIVE US OR DONT PLAY A FOOTBALL GAME AT ALL just because they bought out the competition EA'S BEST GAMES WERE CLEARLY WHEN 2K WAS IN THE PICTURE

Yea agree with you on Franchise mode needing alot of changes done to it. The last good franchise mode was on madden 07 PS2. I agree that the finances does need to be alot better. In madden 11 franchise mode it is hard to tell how the players salaries and bonus are affecting the salary cap year from year. They do need to redo that while redoing the whole franchise mode this coming year. There is alot of areas in franchise mode that need alot work and alot of things that need to be readded that was on the PS2. I'm sure Ian and crew has everything laid out by now on what they can add and work on for franchise mode for madden 12. Ian and Josh Looman and few others are going to be talking mainly about franchise mode in the next podcast coming up in a few weeks. So hopefully then they will give us a layout on what they will be doing to make franchise mode better. It's going to interesting to see what they come up with.

Well, we got stung this year because Madden 12 is 'the' franchise year, so I'd expect big changes and improvements.

How do they screw it up? It didn't need to be changed after 07 but just adding new features. I just don't understand why it's so hard to fix something they already had working fine.

It's like buying a 2010 vehicle because you liked there 2006 version and than finding out the 2010 car doesn't have a gas pedal. How do you mess up a good thing?

I personally like the way the game plays right now. I use my own custom sliders and get some tight and some blow out games...like in the NFL.

However, like the OP said, franchise needs the EA sports radio, a revamped extra point show and hell, throw back in the newspaper. I would also like Owner mode to come back. For me, no madden game was as enjoyable as madden 06 on Xbox or madden 04 on gamecube.

Some people speculate that some of those features were removed to help EA sell Head Coach.

In addition to the position battles, another of my favorite former franchise features was the breakdown of plays most commonly run by team, with breakdowns of routes ran as a percentage of total plays, etc., and the keys to winning the game. I agree with your analogy though. The strange part is, if they put the gas pedal back in the car, is it really an improvement? In studio animation highlight reels that show whats going on in your franchise has never been in Madden though, so I guess that would truly be an improvement (2K aside).
