Does Size Matter?

When it comes to players ability to truck other players, or tackle, or I guess hold blocks, so size matter? The thing thing I can think of in this game where I have noticed a difference is in WR's and corners going for jump balls. But does it matter when you look for linemen, or offensive linemen? Does it impact a running backs ability to truck or avoid players?

Re: Does Size Matter?

According to the Extenze commercials I've seen, the answer is yes.

Re: Does Size Matter?

It only matters for WRs/DBs going after jump balls.

Everything else that happens in Madden is governed by ratings.

Height and weight are pretty much irrelevant.

That is why you can put a kicker on the offensive line, edit his block ratings, and he will do just as good as a 300-pound lineman.

It doesn't even affect jump balls that much, I've seen 5'9" DBs with 85 Jumping out-jump a 6'5" WR with 99 Jumping on a ball that realistically only the WR should have a shot at.

I've seen things that make me think height/weight matter, and things that make me think they don't. I have LaGarrette Blount on a fantasy-drafted team, and his size (6'0", 245 lbs) seems to help him truck and drag defenders better than smaller power backs with better Trucking ratings. However, I've also seen Patrick Willis (6'1" 240 lbs, 99 Tackling, 97 Hit Power) miss tackle after tackle as small, elusive backs power through him.

Re: Does Size Matter?

Ratings are what really drives Madden. I still see Punters and Kickers subbed in as O-Lineman and clearly, size doesn't matter. Although, I sometimes wonder how much ratings matter as well.

Re: Does Size Matter?

Size and weight are 100% meaningless.....WR/Db no matter....Ratings take the front seat.
