I'm might be wrong about real NFL rules.. but...

I went into OT in the superbowl in my franchise. A window popped up and told me about the new OT rules in the play-offs. (How if one team gets a TD they win out-right, but if one team gets a FG the other team gets at least one drive to score before loosing.)

Anyways... low and behold my Patriots stop Bret Farves Vikings after the Vikes won the coin-toss. I get the ball and get close enough to succesfully kick a 45 yard FG... I expected to have to kick the ball back the Vikings one last time... but all of a sudden my guys ran on the field and I won...

Im confused...? Shouldn't I have had to kick it back?

I think that rule applies only if the coin-toss winner goes down and kicks an FG on their first drive of OT.

I still find it puzzling as to why they made Gus and Cris discuss that playoff overtime rule whenever a regular season game goes into overtime (and on top of that, Cris fails to mention that it applies only to playoff games). Just seems like something that'd be easy to fix.
