Franchise/Gameplay Help

Ok so I'm playing a franchise in Madden 11...

My coaching preference or whatever is set to run a 4-3 defense...

I acquired the players with that in mind (2 good DT's, 3 good LB's)

When I play a game... It doesn't give me the choice to run plays from the 4-3... There is only 3-4 then nickel dime etc etc...

This is frustrating because my 7 million per season DT is sitting on the bench while a 73 linebacker is out there getting his hat handed to him.


Anybody know how to fix this? I would greatly appreciate it.

I can think of one of two things here. One, in the Coaching Scheme settings, it's set to 3-4 instead of 4-3, but if I recall that only affects CPU controlled teams, which is completely ludicrous given that each team has their own system.

More likely, it's that whatever team you're playing has a defensive playbook that is a 3-4 scheme. Just select the defensive playbook of a team that runs a 4-3 or just select the generic "4-3" playbook. You can even make this a default in the Game Options at the main menu and then save your profile so you don't have to switch it before every game. Hope that helps.

On coaching scheme it's def. set to 4-3.

But I am using the Bills who run a 3-4 that probably explains it. Where do I change which playbook is used?
