How many franchise seasons?

How many seasons do you guys usually play a franchise for?

I don't have a designated amount. I just play it until I don't want to anymore.

With this version...not many. I'll finish my current season (@ wk16), and run through an offseason then see where I'm at. The lack of franchise-based achievements gives me no incentive to play this franchise mode; that and its not a very good franchise mode anyways.

I did one but simmed to the off season and the money all the free agents and players that needed to be signed wanted kinda killed it for me.

Im going to be jumping into a new one though. I ll give it a chance this time.

Set the CPU to automatically sign draftee's for your team.

You still get to pick who you want to draft.... and its the only way to avoid un-realistic contract demands from generated rookie draftee's.

I am in season 4 of my Patriots franchise, and I've never had trouble getting my draftee's to fit under the salary cap.


To answer OP's question;

I generally will get to season 10, by which time the NFL is all generated guys and it looses its flavor. I usually do a Patriots franchise, and Lions franchise, a Create-a-team franchise, a Raiders franchise, and a fantasy franchise.

2005 Madden - got 3 seasons
2007 Madden - got 6 seasons


I did not buy Madden again till PS3 2010 and got 2 seasons out of it till I could not take the exploits and how bad the passing game was IMO.

With Madden 2011 I expect to get 3 seasons as I hope and pray 2012 gives us a much improved Franchise mode. If 2012 does not make the strides I think it will this will keep going for 5-6 seasons. Then again the hope will rear it's head again with Madden 2013.

I usually don't make it all that far, no more than 5 or so seasons before I decide I want to be a different team, but my brother has Madden 11 at his college right now so I've been continuing my Madden 10 franchise. I think I'm in my 23rd season. I just really got into this team. Took over Cleveland and moved them to Boston to be the Boston Browns. Drafted a dual-threat QB and a stud HB with the 2 top 5 picks that I had gotten from 2 seasons of 3-13 football. Then I was able to draft a TE that eventually wound up in the HOF and my dynasty began. 8 Superbowls in about 20 seasons while playing only the Saturday, Thursday, Sunday Night, or Monday Night games and the Super Bowl whenever I made it. I lost in the Super Bowl once.

I usually get to between five and eight seasons (not playing all of the games), then, when I am done my "career" for that game, I sim ahead to see how my guys develop in the years after I am done.
