Does it really matter?

I play an offline franchise with my buddy. We import draft classes and everything to make it as realistic as possible. The problem is that he obsesses over the incoming players hair cuts and actually won't draft them if they have dreadlocks in the game but not in real life. Or if someone is traded mid-season he has to restart a franchise we've already started because a team has a new player, etc. My questions is, does anyone think things like these really matter or can we just play the freakin game?!

Worrying about hair, helmets, and facemasks are kind of idiotic to me but to each his own. For the traded thing, if you make sure you control all 32 teams you will be able to make those in season trades yourself when they happen and don't have to start over.

LOL.

I am laughing cause I realy feel your pain on this OP. There used to be 3 of us that played offline franchise together and we would vote on things like what reasons to restart the entire franchise. Life happened ( more accurately "wife happened" ) and 1 guy could no longer participate. This just left 2 people and no way to break the deadlocks democratically so we just would flip a coin when we couldn't reach an agreement.

Lol, that's crazy. sounds like me when I was 12. Now, I just consider it a "virtual world" and don't mind the new roster updates.

Yeah, this.

I also would LIKE to import NCAA classes, but seeing how that is a waste of time, I have stopped trying. In fact, I really like the hand crafted classes by Josh Looman.

Re: Does it really matter?

How can you import classes and actually draft? I checked out my year 1 class and Andrew Luck was a 5th round choice and 64 overall. I took Kai Forbath in the 7th round and he was like a 55 overall with a 70-something kick power. These are the two best players at their position in the country and this happens. I mean there were just so many problems with the ratings translations that I decided to use made up classes only.

Sounds like your friend is like many I know that obsess about things they can't control, while spending little to no time controlling the things they can.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess your friend isn't very competitive... No offense to him. I say it because I used to obsess about similar things when I wasn't competitive. As I got better, I obsessed about the inane a lot less.

If he keeps obsessing and you still want to play him, start a franchise once the post-season ends and the rosters are locked in.
