Read Option play could be worst play on game

I run with the Eagles and Vick and McCoy cannot even run it. It is slow developing and the backside DE kills the QB every time you keep it. Time to take it out of the old gameplan.

There's a reason why nobody uses it in real life. NFL defenses will blow up the play most of the time. It is more popular in college football

I can't even get back to the line of scrimmage with it. The tackles never block the DE that hits the QB. They let him by every time.

As stated in other threads (esp NCAA), it is the high Player Recognition.
It kills true player flow and bites: screens, counters, play-action, reverses etc...

You have to get a roster set that has address this by lowering this rating.

The only real issue with the read option plays is that for some reason, the interior line never blocks one of the DTs (or they do that ridiculous quick swim move that destroys the OL). The backside end guy is supposed to be left unblocked.

At least the play is rarely run in the NFL. The fact that this same play is broken for the CPU on NCAA practically kills the game experience.
