Am I the only one that actually likes this game?

I like it too. This is after I hated their last years game. This game is completely different. Speed cheats are gone. If you take a bad angle on D, you WILL get burned.

If you make a bad QB read, you will throw a pick. If you don't hit the hole when running, you will lose yards.

And this is just the gameplay stuff, the owners mode is great so far.

the game is good, but if EA would get off their butts and fix the problem with the servers so i can actually get credit for a win or a loss, the game would be great

i've played about 15 games with my profiles and all i am is 2-2...all with fair play on and ranked game on...this is rediculous

If you've ever played NFL2K3, that's how you lose yards when you dont hit your holes, in Madden i can take a HB dive in an i formation and right run to the right sidelines where the hole wasnt and pick up 5 yards.

After making a lot of changes to the sliders, and learning playmaker control, I'm starting to love this game. It's added a lot of things that 2K3 had last year, while still doing the things Madden has always done well. There are some bugs, but I am impressed with the gameplay.

You're not the only one by far. I think you tend to hear the criticism more on the boards because most people who enjoy the game are playing it rather than complaining.

I think it's the best Madden yet. I love it!

I just watched a movie of Madden 2004 for the gameboy advanced on IGN (looks like the Genesis Madden 94). It reminded me of how much the game has changed since I started playing it 12 years ago. I guess some gamers don't appreciate that.

But don't you guys realize that Cade McNown's shoes are tied in single knots when everyone knows he double knots them?

Listen, I think the game is great. I would be lying to try and rate it, I don't have enough time in yet. But it seems improved in almost every aspect. Are there flaws? Sure. Do I sometimes get frustrated when I see something stupid? Yep. But overall a vast improvement over '03. If you want perfect football, I think most teams have tryouts around mid-May.
