No Super Bowl MVP?

So i just won the super bowl with the atlanta falcons (i beat steelers 30-24) and I'm kinda bummed out that there was no "Super Bowl MVP" announced at the end of the game...did i miss something maybe?

But anyway, i can't decide who should get the Super Bowl MVP (i would like to name one just for my own personal edification, so maybe you guys could help me out)

The award could have went to either Matt Ryan or Michael Turner, here's their stats:

Matt Ryan: 25-32, 254 yds, 2 TD's, 1 INT, and also lost 1 fumble which
was recovered for a steelers touchdown

Michael Turner: 24 att / 158 yds / 1 TD

Re: No Super Bowl MVP?

The guy holding what initially looks like a Lombardi Trophy with the top broken off is the MVP. The MVP trophy has a star cutout as the top of the trophy rather than a football on top.

If you didn't get that cutscene, than I'd have to say Ryan gets MVP even with the fumble.

Re: No Super Bowl MVP?

dude you are very perceptive, i noticed it the 2nd time...but check this out, i just replayed the super bowl (with 1 minute quarters on rookie level)

I just did this so i could see what you were talking about with the MVP trophy, i ran the ball exclusively w/ Turner in the game this time and won the game 14-0 and turner had 75 yards rushing w/ two touchdowns, but Matt Ryan was holding the MVP trophy STILL...and he didn't even throw a pass!! so i think they just default it to the quarterback, don't you think?

Yea they do. I hate it. I was playing my cousin in our franchise. Brady got the award with throwing 4 ints and 2 tds. My okb gary guyton had 4 int and returned 1 for a TD and a forced fumble. They gotta fix this

Re: No Super Bowl MVP?

Oddly enough, sometimes the MVP is correct. Frank Gore ran for 270something and 3 tds rushing and one recieving and he was holding the trophy. It is rare though. Most of the time it is just the winning QB.

Re: No Super Bowl MVP?

When I won, it showed (and even mentioned) Alex Smith as MVP. But when I watched The Extra Point after the game, it had Nate Clements (who made much more sense) as MVP.

Same here LowerWolf.....

I noticed the cutscene defaults to the QB. I had Ravens-Saints in my Super Bowl. Ray Rice ran for 199 and two TD's. And at the end Flacco was holding the MVP Trophy.

But after the game when I watched Extra Point....Ray Rice was MVP.

Re: No Super Bowl MVP?

Here's a question: When you're viewing a players stats and you go over to awards, it shows what round they were drafter in, if they won MVP, rookie of the year, etc. Does it show Super Bowl MVPs? I don't think it does, because I don't remember seening those awards on the page of Drew Brees. Manning, Brady, etc.
