Drafted player ratings: How does AWR effect them?

I heard AWR does not effect any player except QBs in simmed games. That seems crazy when you think about how much AWR effects an overall rating.

So if this is true then....

If I draft a CB with great ratings in key areas but his overall rating is low because his AWR is real low... he's still a good player because the AWR does not effect him?

.

I give it little consideration at the CB position. If you see beastie stats get'em. This is one of my rookie CB stats. He is 6ft 1in 207 lbs. and only a 51 OVERALL. He plays well for me when I need him to be man assigned to my opponents fastest or most used WR.

Well but you gotta admit it's not only the AWR that draws your CBs rating down, his Man Cover is bad, Zone is abysmal and his Press rating isn't anything to be really excited about as well.

Re: Drafted player ratings: How does AWR effect them?

Awr incorrectly skews ratings of all players, especially incoming rookies. I've had LB's that I drafted first round who are in the high 80s but absolutely suck because they start out with a 90+ awr and all of their other ratings are horrible. Offensive linemen are really bad about this also.

If you're going to be simming games, go with high awr at QB because then it really makes a difference, most noticeably in INTs thrown.

If you're actually playing the games, look at the actual football skills. Awr has no bearing whatsoever in played games.

Re: Drafted player ratings: How does AWR effect them?

this is something that must be addressed in the next game

ratings dont matter when you play the game, only when you sim

i can take a team full of players with ratings in the 70's & 80's and beat an all star team as longs my players have good speed & acceleration

jus like i can take Gary Guyton and make him the best LB year in and year out,jus due his speed & catch ratings

Re: Drafted player ratings: How does AWR effect them?

please EA dev team,if you are reading this,
please fix this in Madden 12 franchise

i can exploit the franchise year in and year out jus because i know i dont need good OVR to win,jus the right combination of ratings

like back in the ps2 madden days i never had to wait for a DE to come out of the draft.
jus convert a LB with atleast 75 strength and 85 AGI and boom,
i got a 90+ overall DE

and could you start distinguishing between NT & DT
there is a difference
