I vote AP for two reasons he can take a hit and keep going plus he plays for the Vikes =D

I'd take either.

I've used both, I'm partial to AD since he can truck better, but CJ's speed kills & I've made so many huge yardage plays on his speed alone.

A few nice things about CJ:
Better receiver of the two,not a fumble prone although AD had a great season this year fumble wise IRL.

You also have to take into consideration what type of system you're running for your offense.
Do you prefer a scat back or a power back?
Who is your 2nd/3rd back?
Do you have a O-line fast enough to keep up with CJ?

CJ2K in Madden, because of his speed and Peterson fumbles a LOT.

I would put my vote on AP. I have never played with either of them but AP has KILLED me many times in games. Even the CPU killed me with AP and I never get beat by the CPU. He set the league rushing record on me for crying out loud. It was so ridiculous that I just super simmed the last quarter and a half. Did not realize he had made the rushing record. Later in my offline franchise I was flipping though the league records and there it was... now carved in stone that the CPU controlled AP owned me. lol
