If the current CBA expires and the NFLPA decertifies (like they claim they will do), doesn't that mean that EA will not be able to include those players in the game unless they pay them each individually (since they couldn't give the union one lump sum to distribute)? If this is the case, do you think EA would fork out that cash to each individual player?

EA has signed a deal with the NFLPA for this year in case they are in a lockout when the game drops. After this year, I'm not sure what would happen, although I don't foresee an extended lockout happening that would involve missing/effecting multiple seasons.

Re: If the NFLPA decertifies as a union...

Union recently claimed they wont do that despite getting the votes from the players of each team to do so, no idea about the rest. The threat of doing so is just one threat/leverage.

I doubt it would have any affect, all depends on the terms of their deal. If I had to guess I'd say it would have no impact on M12 and that this iteration's licensing is already bought and paid for.

I hadn't heard that they recently stated that they wouldn't do it. For argument's sake, let's say they go through with it. Even though EA may have a contract signed with the NFLPA through this season, if the NFLPA no longer exists as a union, wouldn't that contract be voided?
