robotic animations

I just cant understand why madden has such robotic stiff jerky animations and last gen animations were so smooth and fluid. Its like they are going in the wrong directions. They need to hire who ever made ESPN NFL 2K5 and all pro football 2k8...thats the only way i see madden 12 being any good.....

Re: robotic animations

Some of us don't play for the animations. We enjoy the depth, the gameplay, and the sheer number of competitors.

Competitors, Madden has. I'm not too sure about the other items you mentioned lol.

Re: robotic animations

Even tho the animations ain't the greatest in the world. I still the love of the graphics. I'm sure in time it will get better. Don't know when but I'm sure it will.

Re: robotic animations

If you look at Madden 05, and I don't want to open a can of worms, but it actually does run smoother. It's definitely faster, something I don't like, but even after plays, you don't see players twitching and doing all kinds of weird things.

When you look at this generation's animation, you really start to see how this game's engine just didn't translate well.

Re: robotic animations

Last gen animations were just as restrictive and clunky as today's animations. 1-on-1 tackles would frequently leave 5 DBs on the ground even though they never touched the opposing runner. You could easily drop back 20 yards and complete passes with QBs, etc. Jukes were ridiculously overpowered. The list goes on.

Don't let the nostalgia goggles deceive you. Sure, it may have been more "quicker", but that's only because the game had to deal with significantly less animations and didn't have much of a momentum formula. It was arcade Madden at its finest.

I'm more referring to what animations were there than what was lacking. Madden has always lacked proper tackling, you really don't have an option to get nostalgic about that. What I see now is a crazy amount of players sliding, twitching and just doing weird overall physics. I don't remember seeing that too often in last gen Madden.
