Re: Negative Effects of Long Term Madden Exposure

Wasn't funny or comical... it was borderline biographic, self serving, and outdated if you ask me.

I saw it today and found it hilarious.

Self serving?? Do you know what The Onion is? Who are they "self serving"?

You know it's satirical "news" right? Oh well. People don't like Arrested Development, doesn't mean it's not genius.

Sorry, but anyone that doesn't at least enjoy the last line of the article is taking themselves too seriously.

"The reason Madden football has so many fans is precisely because of its nonstop hard-hitting action," said current player Jed Ashbee, 26. "If you strip away the things that make the game so exhilarating, then all you're left with is Wii Family Fun Football, and nobody wants that."

Re: Negative Effects of Long Term Madden Exposure

I follow the onion (not religiously), and this would have been better handled by the Onion Sports Network, which actually does good satirical, fictitious, sports related comedy.

It's self serving in that it is written from a purely fanatical perspective by insinuating that to much of a good thing is as bad as too much of a bad thing... I've never considered Madden too much of a good thing. BTW to take a stab at my intelligence by stating that I don't understand, satire, self-serving rhetoric , or Arrested development (which I loved) is just low... and while AD was funny, it was far from genius.

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.

Re: Negative Effects of Long Term Madden Exposure

This is the least humorous article I've ever seen at the Onion. And that's saying a ton. The onion is rarely humorous.

Often punny. Rarely funny.
